SMS Texting Terms and Conditions

The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. (UT Foundation or UTFI) may provide you with an opportunity to receive information on your mobile telephone related to the University of Tennessee and its campuses, the UT Alumni Association, or other messages and offers (e.g. engagement and giving opportunities). You may opt in to this program by checking a box on an online form or verbally consenting to receive Short Message Service (SMS) messages (commonly called text messages) while speaking to a UTFI Engagement Center caller or UTFI/UTAA staff member.

By opting in, you consent and agree to the following:

To receive occasional automated marketing and non-marketing text messages at the mobile telephone number you provided.
To be bound by the UTFI Privacy and Security Policy and any other applicable terms, and you consent to the processing of your information as set forth in those policies.

You also agree to be bound by the following program terms and conditions:

You are the account holder for the mobile telephone number(s) that you provide. You are responsible for notifying UTFI immediately at kkaldenberg@utfi.org if you change your mobile telephone number.
You can opt out from future messages at any time by texting STOP to 865-270-4450 from your mobile phone. You agree that if you request to opt out from future messages, we may send you a one-time opt-out confirmation text message.

Standard carrier message and data rates may apply. Please consult your mobile service carrier’s pricing plan to determine the charges for sending and receiving text messages. UTFI does not impose a separate fee for messages it might send.
Delivery of messages may fail due to a variety of circumstances or conditions. You understand and acknowledge that network services, including but not limited to mobile network services, are outside of UTFI’s control, and UTFI is not responsible or liable for issues arising from them. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
This text messaging program may not be available on all wireless carriers. The program is currently available for AT&T, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Cricket, Boost, Metro PCS, Virgin Mobile, and T-Mobile. UTFI may add or remove any wireless carrier from this program without notice.
You understand that message frequencies may vary.
UTFI may suspend or terminate your receipt of text messages if it believes you are in breach of these SMS Terms and Conditions. Your receipt of UTFI text messages is also subject to termination in the event that your mobile telephone service terminates or lapses. UTFI reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, all or any part of text messages, with or without notice.

Modifications or amendments to UTFI’s SMS Terms and Conditions may be made at any time at our sole discretion and shall become effective on the date posted. Please check back regularly for any changes. Your continued consent to receive text messages will indicate your acceptance of those changes.
