The University is fortunate to have so many alumni, parents, and friends who understand the positive impact UT has for our state, region and nation. These individuals through their investment in the university help ensure that UT remains one of the premier public universities in the country.
As a public institution of higher learning, UT relies on private support to address needs that state allocations and tuition revenues alone cannot. Scholarships, endowed professorships, facility enhancements, student experiences and community partnerships are just a few examples of the areas that private support impacts here at UT.
When you give to the University of Tennessee, you make a difference!
The UT Annual Fund is the foundation of support to the University. Each year, alumni and friends unite in their support of UT through their gift to the Annual Fund.
These private gifts are used to address the greatest needs on each of our campuses. With reduced funding from state allocations becoming a common reality for higher education, the gifts from the Annual Fund help the university bridge the gap and give us the flexible resources that allow us to maintain a margin of excellence within our programs.
These gifts are commonly used to underwrite scholarships, enhance our classrooms and laboratories, support student learning experiences outside the classroom, make equipment and technology purchases and recruit outstanding faculty.
Philanthropy may be inspired by an overwhelming sense of gratitude, a lively intellectual curiosity, or a desire to encourage excellence in a young scholar.
The University of Tennessee Development Office provides leadership and guidance to those interested in making a lasting impact for the university.
The Development Office staff works with potential donors to explore the many ways in which individuals, corporations, and foundations may help to advance the educational, research and service priorities of the university.
The Campaign for Tennessee is the most ambitious fund-raising effort in the 213-year history of the University of Tennessee. This campaign combines the spirit of what is special here in Tennessee, the vision President John Petersen and the energy and commitment of our volunteer leadership to help position the University of Tennessee for the next several decades as a premier public university.
