Elizabeth (Betsy) Brasher has been appointed by UTAA President Dan Brown as 2009-2010 chair of the UTAA Women's Council effective June 20, 2009. Betsy earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration '98 and her MBA '03 at UT Martin. She is employed by First Tennessee Bank as Manager of Continuing Credit Education.
Betsy has served the university as a member of the Women's Council since 2006, the UT Martin Alumni Council, and past president of the UT Martin School of Business Advisory Council. Betsy is also an active volunteer in her community. She resides in Memphis.
Jennifer Holder, the 2008-2009 Women's Council chair, will join the group for an additional year serving as past chair. Jennifer has worked tirelessly on the council's new direction and has implemented much-needed changes during her tenure as chair. The council is pleased that she will continue as a fourth year member in 2009-2010.
Anita Airee is a graduate of UT Martin '89 and the UT Health Science Center ‘98. She is a pharmacist and an assistant professor at the College of Pharmacy at UT Knoxville. Anita served the UT Alumni Association's Board of Governors as a UT Martin campus representative. She resides in Knoxville.
Melinda Connell
Melinda Connell graduated from UT Knoxville with a degree in Education. Her husband, Joel, earned his degree in Business Administration at UT Knoxville. Melinda and Joel reside in Knoxville and have a daughter named Ashley.
Robin Derryberry graduated from UTC with a BS and an MS from the College of Human Services. She is the owner of Derryberry Public Relations, LLC in Chattanooga, TN. Robin's business has won numerous awards for its work in the Chattanooga community and elsewhere. She is involved with many Chattanooga clubs and organizations such as The Partnership for Families and the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce. Robin and her husband, Andy, live in Signal Mountain, TN.
Taina Edwards graduated from UT Martin in Business Administration. Her husband, Dr. George Edwards, earned his MD at the UT Health Science Center. Taina is active in her local UT alumni chapter. She and her husband reside in Jackson, TN.
Anne Fleming is a graduate of the UT Health Science Center '74 and '77. Mrs. Fleming is a registered nurse at UTMG in the Hamilton Eye Institute. She has held multiple offices on the Memphis Medical Society Alliance, is a volunteer with the RN Volunteer Church Health Center and is a Germantown Baptist Church Volunteer Tutor. She resides in Germantown.
Mary Hammock is a graduate of UT Chattanooga '77 and the UT Health Science Center '81. She is a physician in internal medicine and resides in Rising Fawn, GA. Dr. Hammock will represent the council as a UTC graduate, UT Health Science Center graduate and as the council's out-of-state representative.
Hammock was a guest speaker at the 2008 Patricia Pinckley Johnson Leadership Seminar, is past chair of the UT Medical Alumni Council, serves as a current Medical Alumni Council member and is chair of the Board for ContinueCare. Hammock also was a guest speaker at the 2008 Patricia Pinckley Johnson Leadership Seminar and Women's Council Reunion.
Kandyce Harber earned her BA in Arts and Sciences and her Law degree from UT Knoxville. She is a former Junior League of Knoxville President and remains an active supporter of her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. Kandyce serves on the committee to assist in building their sorority house at UTK. She is married to John Harber, a Knoxville attorney.
Kelly Harlin earned her BA in Liberal Arts at UTK and her Master's degree at Belmont University. She is an English teacher at Brentwood Christian Academy. Kelly served the UT Alumni Association as a Williamson County chapter board member. She is married to William Harlin. They reside in Franklin with their two children, Tucker and Luke.
Tara Moore graduated from UT Knoxville and the UT Health Science Center. She is a pharmacist in Knoxville. Her husband, John, graduated from UT Knoxville as well. Tara serves the UTHSC as a board member for the College of Pharmacy. She and John have a son, Nicholas.
Carolyn Moss earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Memphis and her Masters in Education, Health and Human Services at UT Martin. Her husband, Mike, graduated from UT Martin and UT Knoxville. Both Carolyn and Mike are active volunteers within the UT Alumni Association. She is a talented artist who exhibits in Memphis and a pianist. Carolyn and Mike have two daughters, Amanda and Dana.
Jennifer Stanley earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a Business Minor at UTK. She went on to earn her Master of Science of the World Economy at the London School of Economics and Science, London, England. As a Rhodes Scholar, Jennifer completed her Doctor of Philosophy, Politics at St. Antony's College, University of Oxford, Oxford, England. She is a lecturer at UT Chattanooga. Her husband, William, is a UT Knoxville graduate as well. Jennifer and William reside in Ooltewah, TN.
Brigitte Tubbs-Jones graduated from UT Martin with a degree in Political Science and earned her JD, Law from the College of Law at UT Knoxville. She is employed as an attorney at the State of Tennessee's Department of Economic and Community Development in Nashville. Brigitte resides in Brentwood with her husband, Marcus, and their daughter, Mikaia.
Joanne Walker is a graduate of UT Martin '76 and UT Chattanooga '87. She is a retired business executive from Mars, Inc., where she held numerous ascending positions throughout her extensive career including vice president for the Mars food division. The food division includes well-known brands such as Uncle Ben's, Snickers, Twix, Skittles, Whiskas and Pedigree pet foods. Mrs. Walker is an active volunteer in the Gallatin and Nashville area.
Laura Woods earned her BA in Arts and Sciences and went on to earn her JD, Law at the UT College of Law. She is an attorney with Hunter, Smith & Davis. She resides in Kingsport with her husband, Christopher.
